Developers test a navigation app on a smartphone inside a building
GiPStech for developers

Build experiences that understand space

Your app can guide people, recognize where they are and show content in the right place. MDK, ARDK, AIDK, AuRea and Way-Fi give you a choice of capabilities to turn location into an experience people can use.

01 Why integrate

Start with the experience you want to create

Inside a building, GPS alone cannot guide someone across entrances, floors and destinations. We offer components for location, vision, augmented reality and routes: start with the feature you need, then combine capabilities around your project. Our technology overview provides the wider context.

02 Choose a component

Five components, five starting points

Start with the feature your app needs: MDK for location, ARDK for augmented reality, AIDK for visual positioning, AuRea for AR content and Way-Fi for routes.

MDK · Location

Indoor and outdoor location for mobile apps.

ARDK · Augmented reality

Movement tracking and digital content anchored to places.

AIDK · Vision

Position and floor estimates from images.

AuRea · AR content

Scenes with objects, labels and directions; under internal testing.

Way-Fi · Routes

Paths between places and levels, including alongside MDK.

Choose components around the experience you want to create.

03 Ecosystem

Combine capabilities around your use case

MDK provides location; AIDK can add a visual reference; ARDK supports tracking and anchored AR content. AuRea renders the scene, and Way-Fi calculates routes. There is no single required combination: ARDK and Way-Fi can also work on their own, while AuRea works with ARDK. The developer documentation explains requirements and connections.

04 Field validation

Test the solution where it will be used

Devices, lighting, maps and connectivity vary by environment. Before choosing a configuration, define the service and test the components in the real space. The developer portal describes offline operation for all five components; activation, data availability and prerequisites should be checked in each guide.

05 Getting started

Three steps to get started

01

Define the outcome

Decide whether the app should locate, guide or display AR content.

02

Choose components

Start with the main feature and review relevant integrations.

03

Test in the field

Validate the experience on representative devices and spaces.

06 Resources

Continue in the documentation

The MDK, ARDK, AIDK, AuRea and Way-Fi guides provide requirements, examples and integration references.
