Yesterday we presented our innovative indoor localization technology at the 2016 European Navigation Conference in Helsinki.
We were in good company, as the roundtable included the most interesting and promising players of the indoor localization industry worldwide: moderated by Jari Syrjarinne of HERE, it included Simo Särkkä (IndoorAtlas), John Raquet (AFIT), Thomas Burgess (Indoo.rs), Fabio Belloni (Quuppa), Jouni Kämäräinen (HERE), and of course our Matteo Faggin.
After a brief presentation that allowed us to showcase our hybrid geomagnetic indoor localization technology (impressing the plenary audience for its accuracy and resiliency), the roundtable conversation was incredibly good considering that most participants are actually competitors in their everyday activities.
It was a chance to highlight the market interest for an indoor localization that is able to deliver accuracy without need for expensive installations, for all kinds of applications: from museums to airports, from security to industry 4.0.
The challenges for this promising market, all panelists agreed, lie with the difficulty of customers to understand the differences in the technologies proposed and that precision is not the only metric one should look at.
It was striking to see the competitors that are going to shape the indoor localization market in the decades to come agree so plainly!

About European Navigation conference: ENC 2016 is the twenty-fourth conference in the series organized annually by the European Group of Institutes of Navigation. In this edition of ENC the focus will be on innovations in positioning, navigation and timing technologies and applications at land, sea and air.
